My heart is still full from Grace and Chris’s incredibly special wedding at her family’s home in Spring Lake, NJ. This wasn’t just any wedding; it was an intimate celebration overflowing with love, laughter, and the kind of warmth that only family can create. And for me, it was even more meaningful.
You see, this isn’t my first time celebrating with this amazing family. I had the absolute joy of photographing Grace’s sister Tara’s wedding in gorgeous Cape Cod a few years back. (EDIT, a few years after Grace’s wedding I was invited to capture her sister Rose’s stunning Boston wedding too!) So, when Grace reached out about her own big day, it felt like coming home. I’ve watched this family grow and celebrate together, and being a part of this latest chapter felt incredibly special.
Grace and Chris envisioned a relaxed and personal wedding, and their family home on the Jersey Shore provided the perfect backdrop. The ceremony took place in the backyard, with the gentle sea breeze whispering through the trees. Imagine saying “I do” surrounded by the people you love most, in a place that holds so many cherished memories. It was pure magic.
Grace looked absolutely radiant in her elegant gown, her smile lighting up the entire yard. Chris, beaming with happiness, couldn’t take his eyes off her. Their vows were heartfelt and genuine, bringing tears to the eyes of everyone present (including mine!). You could feel the love radiating from them, a connection so strong and true.
The reception that followed was a true celebration of family. Guests mingled and laughed, enjoying delicious food, an ice cream truck, playing games, and sharing stories. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, just as Grace and Chris had hoped. String lights twinkled as the sun set, creating a magical ambiance for the evening festivities. I stole a few moments with the happy couple for some portraits on the beach, capturing the beautiful light and the joy in their eyes. These are the moments I live for as a photographer – capturing the raw emotions and genuine connections that make each wedding unique.
Being a part of Grace and Chris’s wedding felt like coming full circle. It’s such an honor to document these milestones for a family, to witness their love stories unfold, and to capture the memories they’ll cherish for a lifetime.
